Always in My Heart
Always in My Heart, a 12x12x2 inch mixed media painting on canvas, depicts a mother and child hummingbird duo in a garden of colorful zinnias and a pink sunflower. Even if we are separated, we still keep the memories of our loved ones in our hearts.
The painting's title is from the 1942 hit song popularized by Jimmy Dorsey and his orchestra, and this is the 3rd painting in this 'Vintage Vinyl' series of paintings inspired by top songs from 1940-1980 (such incredible music!).
The mixed media layers of this painting include sheet music from the song (see top left), pages from a fairy tale, handmade mono printed papers, handmade Nepalese paper, a map and other snippets of papers from my travels.
Signed & titled on reverse and fitted with wire to hang on the wall without a frame. Sides are painted Payne's Gray tinted with a touch of teal to match the painting.
